Timothy McCauley Honored with 2026 Manager of the Year Award

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A lifetime devoted to caring for cattle, advancing Angus genetics, and serving the beef industry has earned Timothy McCauley of McCauley Angus one of the highest honors presented at the All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity, underscoring the award’s significance.
McCauley was named the 2026 Manager of the Year during the Roll of Victory Show at the 2026 All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity in Louisville, Kentucky. The award recognizes outstanding cattle management, stockmanship, leadership, and a lifetime of dedication to the Angus breed. The traveling trophy was donated by the Schubert family in memory of E.G. “Gene” Schubert, a legendary cattleman whose commitment to the purebred beef industry continues to inspire generations of breeders.
The All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity is one of the oldest and most respected Angus events in the United States. For more than a century, the Futurity has brought together the nation’s leading breeders and exhibitors while celebrating excellence in Angus genetics, cattle management, and youth development.
For Tim, the recognition represents more than a successful show season. It reflects decades of commitment to the Angus breed, a passion for good cattle, and a reputation built on hard work, integrity, and the respect of his fellow breeders.
A native of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Tim was raised with strong agricultural values instilled by his parents and grandparents. The McCauley family has farmed the same land in Harrison County since before Kentucky became a state, and that heritage continues to shape both his life and his approach to agriculture.
Tim’s passion for cattle began almost as soon as he could walk. As a youth, he exhibited Polled Herefords, developing the stockmanship and work ethic that would define his career. His talent led him to become a respected professional cattle fitter, preparing elite cattle for some of the nation’s most competitive shows.
His experience with Angus cattle expanded while managing Black Crest Farms in Sumter, South Carolina, for renowned cattleman W.R. “Billy” McLeod. During his eleven years managing one of the Southeast’s premier Angus operations, Tim refined his knowledge of Angus genetics, herd management, and seedstock production while earning the respect of fellow breeders throughout the industry.
In 2008, Tim founded McCauley Angus and Cattle Service with his wife, Nell. Today, they own and operate McCauley Angus, a registered Angus seedstock operation dedicated to producing cattle with sound structure, maternal excellence, and performance.
McCauley Angus remains a true family operation. Tim and Nell work alongside their son, Adam, who has become an integral part of the program. Their daughter, Destiny, grew up on the farm and remains one of the family’s biggest supporters, proudly celebrating each success.
Anyone who knows Tim knows cattle are more than his profession; they are his passion. Long before daylight, he can usually be found in the barn checking cows, feeding cattle, or preparing for the day ahead. Whether assisting with a difficult calving, evaluating the next mating, or helping a junior exhibitor prepare for the show ring, Tim believes every job is worth doing well. That steady attention to detail has earned him respect across the country.
“If you know Tim, you know this isn’t something he ever expected,” said Nell McCauley, his wife and business partner. “He has always believed the cattle come first. He enjoys helping others, working alongside our family, and constantly looking for ways to improve our herd. Receiving the Manager of the Year Award is a wonderful honor because it recognizes the values he’s lived by throughout his entire career.”
While Tim would be the first to credit his family, mentors, and fellow cattlemen for helping shape his journey, those who know him understand this recognition is well deserved. The 2026 Manager of the Year Award honors more than a lifetime of accomplishments. It recognizes the character, humility, and dedication of a man who has spent his life strengthening the Angus breed one day, one herd, and one generation at a time, making the achievement even more significant.
